Woman Gives Birth On Jakarta-Bogor Train
A woman gave birth aboard a Jakarta to Bogor economy-class train near Depok, West Java, on Tuesday.
Fatmawati,
a resident of Bogor, West Java, caught the train from Depok station,
but just minutes into the journey went into labor and gave birth, much
to the shock of other passengers.
The passengers notified the conductor and when the train stopped at the next station, they took her to a nearby midwife.
The
midwife, Siti Masliah, told Metro TV that the baby’s placenta was still
attached to the mother when they arrived at the clinic. The baby girl,
who weighed three kilograms, was in a stable condition but the mother
was in shock after the sudden birth.
Siti said Fatmawati likely came from a poor family. She declined to answer any other questions.
